"Grace is opposed to earning, not to effort."
Dallas Willard
At Summit Community Church we believe that growth happens in the context of community which means that there can be no Lone Ranger Christians. Healthy believers have purposeful and deep relationships with other believers. These relationships are built on the gospel, submerged in scripture, seasoned with accountability, and saturated with prayer.
A Growth Group is a group of 2-3 people of the same gender who meet weekly to grow closer to each other and Jesus. Because Growth Groups are more personal, they work best when organically created between a group of 2-3 friends. Summit Community Church will sometimes help organize Growth Groups, but think they work best when formed naturally through relationships developed in our other ministries (serving, Connect Groups, etc.). In short, SCC challenges, resources and trains you to start your own Growth Group.

3 Pillars of Growth Groups

Accountability
All Growth Groups hold each other accountable to each other by answering a predetermined list of questions weekly. See the Growth Groups Bible Insert for a list of the questions.

Scripture
All Growth Groups follow a reading plan provided by the church outside of their group meeting and spend time reading together in their group meeting. See the Growth Groups Bible Insert for the church wide reading plan.

Prayer
All Growth Groups use part of their group meeting to pray for each other.
