SCC Worship Team Auditions


Video Submissions
Following are guidelines and tips to help you create and submit your video audition. We offer video submission because we know how intimidating it can be to come in and “perform” to an empty room.

After receiving your video, we will contact you within 7-10 days via email to set-up a time to meet and talk about the next steps.

In Person Auditions
If you would rather do the audition in person, please complete the application and indicate this on the that you'd prefer an in-person audition. Someone from the worship team will be in touch.

Audition Tips

  • If you want to audition for multiple instruments please submit multiple videos. Please keep the video simple (no need to spend lots of time editing it).
  • Use your phone or small digital camera and just make sure that we can hear your performance and the music clearly. If you’re playing along to a MP3 or CD, be sure your instrument can be heard over the recording.
  • Watch the video back to make sure it’s your best performance. Don’t submit something that you aren’t confident in.
  • Double check to make sure your privacy settings on the video are set to UNLISTED and make sure you have titled your video correctly.

Vocalists

Simply record a video clip yourself singing “Amazing Grace” Acapella, while also singing a modern worship song of your choice along with the mp3 recording playing in the background.

While singing along to the worship song, show your ability to sing harmony as well as melody. Below is a list of some modern worship songs that would be excellent choices for your submission.

There are 4 for the male voice and 4 for the female voice. You can open the Link I have sent you the the Audition Packet which will have Lead sheets, Chord Charts and MP3’s of the Songs listed below.

We are paying attention to your pitch, tone, rhythm, and ability to sing harmony as well. You don’t have to showcase every aspect of your talent, but give us a strong glimpse into your capabilities.

Instrumentalists

Create a simple video of you playing along to a modern worship song
of your choice. Below is a list of modern worship songs that would be excellent choices for your submission.

We will pay attention to your ability to replicate the recording, your tone, tuning, timing, rhythm, and tastefulness. You don’t have to showcase every aspect of your talent, but simply give us a strong glimpse into your capabilities to serve a song well and play your instrument.

Submitting your audition video

1. Upload your video to your youtube.com account
2. Go under privacy settings and select UNLISTED
3. Label your video YOUR NAME - INSTRUMENT – Summit AUDITION
4. Then copy the link to your video and include/paste it in your form submission
5. Reply with your YOUTUBE link to take us to the clip you have prepared.
